Melanie’s balsamic reduction

This is a balsamic sauce you can put over ice cream, cheesecake, whipped creams, soft cheeses, berries, and  meat.

In a saucepan, combine 1 cup balsamic vinegar, 1/2 cup of sugar. Add frozen or fresh berries if desired. Stir every so often and wait five minutes after it boils and turn off the sauce. Serve hot or cold.
